MESSAGES FOR THE MONTHS OF APRIL TO JUNE 2008
8am service
Theme:
Study of John’s Gospel & ‘Growing in Obedience to God’s
Will’ OBEDIENCE is clearly commanded in the
Scriptures. But all to often we unconsciously set conditions and limits
to our obedience to God’s will. The Christian can only grow as far as he
is committed to obey God’s will unconditionally. He must follow the
prayer our Lord made at Gethsemane, "Not my will, but Thine, be
done." However the commitment to obey God’s will must include a
commitment to know what God’s specific will is for our various roles of
life, including stewardship, marriage, motherhood and fatherhood.
The 2 messages from John’s Gospel this quarter will
focus on our deep need for Christ - He is the bread of life!
May the Lord enable us to grow further and bear more fruits this
quarter!

MESSAGES FOR THE MONTHS OF APRIL TO JUNE 2008
REHOBOTH SUNDAY WORSHIP 6:00 pm
The Sins That Beset Us
IN HEBREWS 11, we see a list of the great men of
faith and how they lived for Christ. In Hebrews 12, we are exhorted to
emulate them by putting off their burdens and sins to run the race that
Christ has put before us. There can be no growth and fruit-bearing
otherwise.
What are these sins that so easily beset us and prevent us from
growth? How do we conquer envy, anger, lust, deceit, gossip, and sloth?
How do we break life-dominating problems? Can we truly bear fruit when
our hearts are so steeped in sin? Let the Word instruct us.
