Testimonies of Saints

The Lord is Good

I would like to testify the Lord’s goodness upon my life on my job seeking. On 29 April 2002, I tendered my resignation without a job. Before I tendered, when some friends heard of my intention to resign without a job, they started to discourage me as they deemed I was taking high risk, knowing that the economic was not so good. And moreover, I would have received one-month bonus in July 2002 if I do not resign.

But, there was no peace in my heart as I stayed on. The Lord led a sister-in-Christ who not only encouraged but supported my decision as she trusted the Lord will provide if it is His Will.  By the prompting of the Holy Spirit and with that sister's encouragement, I finally took the step of faith to quit without a job after much prayer & seeking in the Lord.

Now, I wish to testify how the Good Lord guided me each step of the way as I learnt to wait upon Him. It's my prayer that this testimony may encourage you one way or another, especially those who are still unemployed.

After my last day with my previous job on 6 May, I started to source diligently for a job.  As I prefer a 5-day job so that I could concentrate serving the Lord on weekends, hence the number of vacancies available in the market were rather limited.  Every single day seemed to be hopeless as it passed by.  Doubts, fears and worries started to creep into my mind.  Nevertheless, the Lord never failed to uphold and strengthen me in the faith as I endeavour to keep close to the Lord while busy serving Him in the church.

On 13 May, I received a call from a tour agency, which I have booked a 3-week package tour in March 2002. They called me one week before my departure. I was rather surprised that this tour was confirmed though there were only 4 persons as I expected them to cancel.  I have decided to go ahead since I was still unable to find a job.  Before my trip, I applied auto-roaming for my handphone, hoping to hear from at least one company.  On the eve of my departure, I received a call from a company, asking me to attend an interview.  With this news, I was very delighted and uplifted as they were willing to wait for my return which was after 3 weeks because of my holiday.

On the 10th day of my trip, I received a phone call from another company also asking me to attend an interview.  Thank God I have applied the auto-roaming which I usually did not when on holiday.  Immediately, my heart leapt for joy and kept thanking the Lord. Wow!  Two interviews waiting for me on 17 June. I returned home on 14 June.

After attending my first interview on 17 Jun morning, while on my way for the second interview in the afternoon, the first company called to inform my interview was successful.  I was shocked as I did not expect to hear from them so soon.  What further surprised me was, they are willing to pay me few hundreds more than what I have asked and above all, it is a 5-day work.  Praise God!  This means I could concentrate serving the Lord over the weekends.

The Lord is truly Marvellous and Wonderful in providing me a job soon after my trip and above what I have asked.  Yes, His timing is always so perfect.  First, He opened the door for me to take a 3-week break and now, He blessed me with a good job upon my return.  My heart just could not stop praising & thanking Him for His riches blessings that He has bestowed upon me. Indeed, the Lord hears and answers every prayers uttered if only we learn to surrender our all to Him.  Never underestimate His power to provide, for all things are possible with Him.

May all glory and honour be to the Only One and True Living God who understands and provides every of His Children’ needs accordingly.  Honour Him and He will honour you.  Amen!

"O taste and see that the Lord is good : blessed is the man that trusteth in Him." Ps 34:8

Blessed Be His Name!

His undeserving child
